International AAD Spring 2020

Date or timeframe: 25-03-2020 / 03-05-2020
City: Wordwide

Dear GC Community,

I hope this email finds all of you safe and healthy.  The Corona virus situation is impacting all of us around the world, and we recently had to cancel two projects – one in Italy and one in Seattle.  In times like this, a familiar quote comes to mind:

“In strange and uncertain times, such as those we are living in, sometimes a reasonable person might despair.  But hope is unreasonable; and Love is greater even than this.”

How can we as a community come together and rise above the uncertainty and fear of our current situation?  What can we do that contributes something positive and brings people together, while we’re being told to physically stay apart?  An answer came very clearly: an AAD, beginning on the 35th Anniversary of GC.  With that, we’d like to announce:

International AAD Spring 2020
March 25 – May 3 (40 days)

No fee – Contributions are welcome.  They will go towards covering expenses from the two cancelled projects.  Any extra collected will be used for future projects.

This AAD is for those who have some GC experience and have been introduced to the Morning Sitting.

The Core Team of this AAD is comprised of those who were going to organize and lead the two cancelled projects, (plus Frank!):

Alessandro Bruno
Chris Doering
Adrian Fortis
Tony Geballe
Chris Gibson
Curt Golden
Dev Ray
Frank Sheldon
Mikael Weichbrodt
Erin Wigger

We are asking a variety of others to contribute as well.

We will work in an online format, with posted written exercises, audio and video, and the ability to comment and ask questions.  We may attempt some Zoom meetings, depending on the size.

All participants will be asked to commit to the Morning Sitting for the duration of the AAD.

To register, please submit an application letter to detailing:

Who are you?
Where are you from?
Why do you wish to participate?
What is your aim for this 40-day AAD?

Once your letter is received and accepted, you will receive the website info and more instructions.

This is a work-in-progress and we are still ironing out some of the details.  We ask for your patience while we get this up and running ASAP!

Best wishes,

Mika and Dev on behalf of the Core Team
